The total renovation against 11 buildings of Senior High School (SMA) and Vocational School (SMK) in West Jakarta can finally completed this year. Its renobation has spent fund as much as Rp 25 billion.

Head of Facility and Infrastructure Section for West Jakarta Secondary Education Sub-Department, Alex Usman explained the total renovation is an advanced project where its completion had been delayed last year. "This is the first phase of a total renovation project that has been done last year," he told, Saturday (9/6).

Those school buildings that will be renovated are SMA 78, SMA 56, SMA 57, SMA 84, SMA 112, SMK 11, SMK 13, SMK 42, SMK 60, SMK 45 and State Community Learning Activity Center (PKBM) 19 Pegadungan. 

Usman expressed such renovation process will be accelerated in order to reach target. "If the project has exceeded specified deadline, we will pay in accordance with an agreement with the contractor," he expressed.

Therefore, he sent supervising consultants and officers of Jakarta Education Department to monitor the contractor performance in the field. It aims to ensure the quality of materials, such as steel frames and other materials should be appropriate with provisions.

"If there are found unwanted things, we will cut the contract unilaterally," he asserted.

On the other hand, this year, West Jakarta Secondary Education Sub-Department had filed 109 activities with a total budget of about Rp 520 billion in the Jakarta Goods and Service Procurement Unit (ULP). Until now, the auction results that have passed and there has been the signing of the contract as a basis for the work is about 30 activities, such as provision of school infrastructure.
